5 Allergy-Safe Crackers

Crackers are a toddler staple, but it was so hard to find ones my daughter could eat! Almost every cracker I found had either soy, nuts or dairy in it – and she’s allergic to all of those things. Add to that my gluten intolerance and…wow, are crackers tricky. Thankfully, we finally found five great cracker options that I want to share with you!

Note: As always, be sure to double-check the packaging for your own allergens before buying any of these crackers. I’ve learned the hard way that it’s best to be careful.

100% Whole Grain Wheat Thins

These are not gluten free, but they are free of nuts, soy and dairy! They’re crispier crackers – a little more the texture of a tortilla chip – but my daughter and husband love them.

Bonus: You could also try putting Trader Joe’s Red Pepper Spread with Eggplant and Garlic on them! My daughter is allergic to sesame, so she can’t have humus, but this spread is free of all her allergens. And it’s totally delicious.

Happy Tot Multi-Grain Alphabet Snacks

These taste AMAZING. They’re free from soy, dairy, sesame, nuts and gluten! And if you look at the ingredients, they are full of super healthy foods. Even though they’re made for kids, these were a personal favorite of mine. (One time I ate a whole bag singlehandedly.)

Late July Organic Crackers

They are similar to the look and texture of Ritz crackers and my daughter loves them! Some of the Late July crackers are made on facilities shared with other allergens, and they do contain wheat (so I can’t eat them). However, they were a total hit with my 18-month-old daughter!

Good Thins Simply Salt Rice Snacks

My daughter and I haven’t tried these crackers, but they look delicious from the packaging! Might be worth a try for some of you? They only have three ingredients, although they appear to be made on equipment shared with soy and tree nuts.

Nut Thins

These were a FAVORITE of mine back before I was breastfeeding. I can’t eat them now since they are made with nuts (my daughter is allergic)…but if you’re just looking for a gluten-free cracker, these are awesome. My favorite is the pecan version.

Sesmark Mini Rice Crackers

These contain soy, but are otherwise free of allergens! And they make for a tasty, crunchy snack.

What are YOUR favorite allergy-safe crackers? Please share them in the comments – I can’t wait to try them!

That Allergy Mama

  1. Thank you for the tip. The double-whammy of nut and dairy allergies is hard (my little has dairy, nut, fish and ginger allergies) as so many non-dairy options are nut based. I’m sure you’ve heard of the allergy-safe brand Made Good – they offer a cracker as well although it’s more like a snacking cracker a la Goldfish than a spreadable cracker. Good luck with your allergy journey!
